At the request of Diagonal Architekten in Winterthur, I developed a concept for the wall design in the day clinic for the Winterthur Cantonal Hospital.
In close cooperation with the hospital director, the head of nursing, pediatrics and the ward, as well as the architects and the construction management, I developed a concept of 7 murals and a design for window foiling. Thematically and in terms of form and color, the concept is consistent throughout all rooms of the day clinic.
Feuer fürs Foyer
The journey through the four elements begins with the foyer in front of the clinic. The fiery sunset in the snowy landscape is intended to create a warm and inviting atmosphere to make the waiting time a little more pleasant.
In the three adjoining relaxation rooms, the elements lead through an underwater world, an airy mountain landscape and end in the last room with the element of earth, represented by an atmospheric forest clearing.
Reception
The reception slab and the side wall with a door are connected by a path through the mountain landscape. Gentians, salamanders and a well-fed chamois enliven the route.
The wall with the little owl leads to the last recovery room in the day clinic.
Recovery room for children
The fourth relaxation room is mostly occupied by small patients, which is why the color scheme was chosen to be a little more colorful and dreamy.
